Mobile number portability service (MNP) for the launch of Rohtak in Haryana, is set to begin today. Haryana to customers changing their service provider without changing their mobile numbers will have the option.
Service areas across the country in the rest of the MNP service since its launch in Haryana will be implemented in phases. Mobile number portability by March 2011 and December will be extended to more states in the All India.
Airtel, Idea Cellular, BSNL, Aircel, Loop, Vodafone, Etisalat and Videocon: In Haryana there are eight mobile operators. For now, MNP will be allowed only in circles. Customers have to pay a maximum of Rs. 19 new operators and new operators to change the network off fee waived or have the option to reduce it. But for the consumer with an operator at least the duration of stay is three months. Both prepaid and post paid subscribers can use the MNP.
